Delayed post by a few weeks, but….
“Steadfast” is officially here!!
I wrote this book when I was looking for stability in the midst of disorienting changes. The losses and transitions seemed endless.
And then I published it when I finally developed roots and routines, but the curveballs kept coming. (So much so that I didn’t get to post about it until now! For some insight, I took on a few leadership opportunities at work that have taken up more time than planned. I also started a theology class through my church and threw my parents a surprise birthday party. A lot of good things…just a lot all at once.)
In both scenarios, it’s easy for our faith to fall away when it’s actually the only thing to keep us steady.
I didn’t plan for my book to release while I embraced a very full schedule. I knew now would not be a convenient time, so I anticipated a mid-November release date. But, as a first-time author, I didn’t know that when you save your book on Amazon and all the information is filled out, “save” actually means “submit for review.” So here we are.
This was unexpected. It wasn’t what I had in mind. My marketing plan has to pivot. The details of my tentative book release crumbled. I couldn’t plan for the ideal release party, giveaways, book signings, any of it. (Those fun book release things will happen, just not as planned.)
And maybe that’s the point. We can’t wait for things to be “perfect” in order to become steadfast in our faith. If we do, we’ll miss out on so much God has for us today.
God never waited for us to change in order to pursue us with His steadfast love. And we don’t have to wait for our situations to improve to become steadfast in our pursuit of Him. We can start right now.
I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be like the seed planted in rocky soil that falls away (see Mark 4:14-17). I want to be planted in the good soil because steadfastness fosters spiritual growth.
This Bible word study will help you develop a deeper understanding of biblical steadfastness, so you can walk through any season with perseverance and a better perspective.
